Uplift Batwa Talents Program

The BDP Uplift Batwa Talents Project was launched by the Rt Rev Dan Zoreka, Bishop Kinkizi Diocese on December 3rd 2024 and the aim was to improve batwa Talents through apprenticeship, training and much more.
Through sensitization in the different batwa settlements, participant selection was made on which skill one wanted to Improve or learn and the transformation we’re witnessing is nothing short of extraordinary and we couldn’t be prouder. From shaping raw timber in carpentry, to the hum and precision of mechanics, from lifting beams on construction to the confident hands learning to drive our students in vocational training are truly thriving under the Uplift Batwa Talents programand this has broughta positive change in these communities as we see Batwa gaining skills to sustain their future.

The work they’re doing isn’t just about acquiring a skill it’s about independence, sparking entrepreneurship, and supporting their families and what an incredible sight it is to see them earning even a modest income leading to projects like livestock farming.

This transformation is real and hoping for better opportunities, stronger households, and brighter futures with the Uplift Batwa Talents Program.
